Teaching methods at foreign universities

Department of Management of the Tashkent Financial Institute, a discussion was held on the method of teaching at universities in the UK. Rasulov Sh.H. - El-Yurt Umidi Foundation scholarship graduate from Newcastle University in the UK, made a presentation.

During the presentation, opinions were exchanged on the teaching methods used in practice, assessment criteria and experiences. According to the information at the Newcastle University in England, in the learning process after theoretical studies will surely follow a “Case study”. Thanks to this practice, questions such as ‘Why do I need this?’ disappear. And for evaluation, a project is set based on real life practice that includes all the topics covered. The following is an example from the “MSc International business management” university program. As part of this project, each group of students must multiply the funds provided by the university within 2 days on the famous London Spitalfield market. This project allows you to put into practice the theoretical knowledge gained in several subjects at once.

And the funds raised go to charity. After the project, students are evaluated by how this task is completed and analyzed and by how the report is compiled. This teaching method allows students to develop theoretical knowledge and practical skills, allowing them to feel responsible and forming an ethics of communication with the client. Meanwhile, professors of the department discussed ways of introducing these methods into the higher education system of Uzbekistan.
