“We are for protecting women from oppression and violence”

    Not all countries in the world have laws that protect women from oppression and violence Uzbekistan is one of the few countries that have adopted laws "On the protection of women from oppression and violence" and "On guarantees of equal rights and opportunities for women and men". These laws call on the state and other relevant organizations to combat and eliminate violence against women and, in turn, are an important protection mechanism for victims of violence and oppression.

     On February 26, 2021, senior inspectors for women's affairs of the Yunusabad district department of internal affairs, Major Zulkhumor Kadyrova, Major Sayora Mavlyanova, Senior Lieutenant Marmakhamat Pirmatova, Senior Lieutenant Khilola Sotvoldieva, were present at a meeting with students of institute of Finance. The experts spoke about the work of law enforcement agencies in the field of protecting women from oppression and violence, the introduction of inspectors and psychologists into the Ministry of Internal Affairs. On the initiative of the commission, a hotline has recently been opened, rehabilitation and adaptation centers for women victims of violence have been created to help women who have been oppressed, and a telegram bot channel called "No to violence" has been launched. The representatives of the internal organs elaborated on the content and procedure for issuing a protective order issued to women who have been subjected to pressure and violence. At the initiative of the commission, a hotline was recently opened to help women undergoing persecution, and a rehabilitation and adaptation center was established to provide assistance to women who have been abused. At the end of the event, videos on measures to prevent harassment and violence against women were shown.
