On November 3, 2023, the institute hosted an international scientific and practical conference on the topic “Directions for increasing and developing the potential of life insurance in Uzbekistan”.

The conference was organized on the initiative of the Department of Insurance and Pension Business together with leading insurance companies specializing in life insurance in our republic.

Opening the conference with an opening speech, the vice-rector of the institute for scientific work and innovation N. Oblomurodov noted that in the decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 28, 2022 No. UP-60 “On the Development Strategy of the new Uzbekistan for 2022” and dated September 11, 2023 No. UP -158 “On the Strategy of Uzbekistan - 2030”, special attention is paid to the development of the financial and banking sector, including the insurance sector.

During the conference, issues of digitalization of the life insurance sector, the role of life insurance in the economies of near and far abroad countries, prevention of fraud in the insurance industry, problems of implementing endowment life insurance and their solutions were discussed.

Representatives of leading universities of the Russian Federation took part in the conference, in particular, Associate Professor of St. Petersburg State University E.V. Sokolovskaya and Associate Professor of Siberian Federal University S.B. Globa put forward a number of proposals and recommendations for the development of life insurance in their scientific reports.

The current situation and problems of life insurance in Uzbekistan are reflected in the reports of the General Director of JSC "ALFA LIFE INSURANCE" N. Yakubova, Deputy General Director of the insurance company "APEX LIFE" B. Abirkulov, Professor of the Tashkent State Economic University K. Kuldashev, Professor of the Tashkent Financial Institute O. Yuldasheva.

The conference was attended by the dean of the Faculty of Taxes and Insurance L. Zoirov, deputy deans of a number of faculties, heads of departments, professors and teachers, as well as more than 150 students of the institute.

Appropriate decisions were made on the issues discussed at the conference.
