ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION ON THE TOPIC “PRIORITY DIRECTIONS OF THE BUDGET AND TAX POLICY ON THE MEDIUM-TERM PERSPECTIVE, ENSURING OPENING OF BUDGET DATA”

On December 21, 2019 on the occasion of the adoption of the Law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020 year” at the initiative of the Department of State Finance of the Tashkent Institute of Finance, a round table discussion was held on the topic “Priority directions of the budget and tax policy on the medium-term perspective, ensuring opening of budget data” with the active participation of professors, teachers, scientific researchers and specialists of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

 

The round table discussion was held under the leadership of the Head of the department, Doctor of Economics prof. T.S.Malikov. At the event, invited specialists presented information on the updated state fiscal strategy of Uzbekistan for the medium term, features of the tax policy for 2020-2022 years, changes in the budget process, mechanisms for their implementation and expected results, changes in budget legislation in connection with the adoption of the Law on the State budget for 2020 year, preparation of the information and analytical publication “Budget for Citizens” and its dissemination to the general public through mass media formations, the launch of the Open Budget portal and open information for users related to the execution of budgets of the budget system. In addition, the professors and scientific researchers participating in the event exchanged views on the priorities and modern requirements for the training of qualified personnel in the higher education system in the context of budget-tax reform.

 

At the end of the event, the parties agreed on close cooperation with leading experts of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan to develop proposals and practical recommendations on the issues under discussion and improve fiscal policy.
