On November 30, 2019 at the Tashkent Institute of Finance an interdepartmental competition on the theme “National costumes – a mirror of our nation and spirituality” organized by the initiative of the Women's Council of the Institute and the club “Qizlarjon”.

   Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs K.Karimova spoke about Uzbek culture, its promotion, selection of clothes, adherence to Uzbek traditions in modern dress, and said that this event is organized to prevent imitation of the dress culture and to create a national culture of dressing in youth, and expressed hope that this event will become a tradition in the life of the institute.

   More than 100 students from 7 faculties of the institute participated in the competition, the teams demonstrated their respect for national values, commitment to national traditions and customs, the beauty of national costumes through various performances, attractive dances and presentations of national costumes. The performance of each faculty team was unique. The competition was evaluated by a jury consisting of female professors and veteran educators with extensive life experience. According to the results of the competition, the team of Taxation and Insurance Faculty with 148 points took the honorable 1st place. Two 2nd place were given to the Faculty of Finance and the Faculty of Accounting and Audit with the score 147 points. The teams of Banking (139 points), Budget Accounting and Treasury (139 points), TMI-Polotsky Joint Faculty (138 points) and Economics (133 points) took the 3rd place. Also the nomination of “The most attractive team” – is given to Banking Faculty, “The Most Fun Team” to – Accounting and Audit Faculty, “The Most Creative Team” to – Faculty of Budget Accounting and Treasury, “The most Creative team” to- TIF-Polotsky Joint Faculty and they were all awarded with the diplomas.

   The contest, which focused on the idea of “Grandmother Dresses”, has become a truly national costume festival and left a lasting impression on the participants.
